Hey, I know this post may get me into trouble with my fellow Christians so please can you see the humour in it and where it comes from. It is poetic, its satire. I am not changing scripture. It just seems to me that all the Christians have forgotten what the bible says when we need it the most. Think of the parts in italics as people’s thoughts as opposed to what the Bible says.

  •  23Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,25not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Heb 10:23-25

23Let us hold unswervingly to the fear we profess, for he who promised could be faithful.24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,25Lets give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Lockdown approaching. Heb 10:23-25

  •  Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 cor 13:11

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be dividedlive in fear. And the God of love and peace might be with you. 2 cor 13:11

  •  We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. 2 Thes 1:3

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your fear is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is decreasing. 2 Thes 1:3

  • Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Eph 4:2

Be completely arrogant and harsh; be impatient, fighting over food in the shopping isles. Eph 4:2

  • So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere. Luke 9:6

So they did not set out and go from village to village, they spread fake news and did not heal people everywhere. Luke 9:6

  •  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Mat 28

Therefore Do not go and make disciples of all nations as the airports are closed, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Mat 28

  • You will be secure because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. Job 11:18

You will be insecure because there is no hope; you will look about you and be anxious in crisis. Job 11:18

  •  19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also Mat 6:19-21

19 “Store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Don’t worry about storing up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your stockpiled treasure is, will ensure you survive on the earth for 3 weeks.Mat 6:19-21

I hope you see the bigger picture here. It is no use boarding yourself up in your house only to let the rest of the population starve. There is no need for stockpiling and panic buying food as the stores remain open. If you are in a position to help others do it. You can continue to pay your domestic workers and factory workers through the shutdown. Feed the hungry, help those in need. Spread hope and love and not fear.
