I feel so strongly about this. Wow. Throughout church history, man has tried to box God in, control God, organise God, limit God, fit God into their plans instead of surrendering their plans to God. It has never worked! We need to be a ‘galley with no oars.’ He is majestic. A mighty river! The ones he created can not tame him!

“There the Lord will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them. For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us.”

 Isaiah 33:21‭-‬22 NIV

Our God is not small!

I want to shout that out!

OUR GOD IS NOT A SMALL GOD!

He is powerful and Majestic

He is not limited by space and time

He is beyond our understanding

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM! NOTHING!

We think we have control in our lives, but we do not have control! God has complete control! When we think we can manipulate God, we deceive ourselves.

Church culture has come along way, we have more freedom now than we have before but throughout church history we see men trying to control and tame God. No, what we need to be doing is tap into God and hear his voice! What is he saying to us! We cannot dictate to God!

His understanding no one can fathom

What we need is a reformation! A New Way of doing Church. The church has become a man-made social construct, with no room for God! It has become about pleasing those who tithe the most. It has become a business. It has become a place where those in power assume the congregation do not hear God for themselves. But our God is personal, and He is speaking to ALL his people directly. The curtain is torn and Jesus made the way clear for us.

See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being, I announce them to you.” Isaiah 42:9

What real relationship should look like…

People are tired of impersonal preaching centres! They can download a sermon anywhere. What they are needing from the church is connection and relationship. You talk WITH a person, not AT them and not behind their backs. It is an all-inclusive dialogue. Caring, not abusing. It’s truly listening and not just acting in a way you see fit to fix a problem. It’s equality. Not thinking you know more or are more important than the other person. It’s accepting if you wrong and apologizing. It’s not using self-righteous, self-acclaimed piety to Lord over someone else. What the church needs are a fresh revelation, not secondhand regurgitated theories. Real relationships, not holy pretence. The holy spirits guidance, not man’s plans! Unity only happens if everyone is included. If the priesthood of all believers is in operation! No hierarchy but equality!

The goal of our instruction is the love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a sincere faith. Some have strayed from these ways and turned aside to empty talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or that which they so confidently assert.

1 Tim6:1

I honestly think some preachers just love the sound of their own voices! They are not hearing the voice of God anymore and there is no reality or action but just empty words. I know this from personal experience. They puff themselves up with their own self-importance. They sometimes sit in their sizeable houses with tennis courts not able to relate at all to the members in their congregation who don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

“I used to pursue preaching good sermons and great crowds, and attempt great accomplishments for Him. But I’ve been ruined. Now I’m a God chaser. Nothing else matters anymore. I tell you that as your brother in Christ, I love you. But I love Him more. I couldn’t care less about what other people or ministers think about me. I’m going after God. That’s not a pride thing; it’s a hunger thing. When you pursue God with all your heart, soul, and body, He will turn to meet you and you will come out of it ruined for the world.”
