I am super excited to announce a collaboration with Shanna Peterson, my cousin and a pilates instructor. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience she will periodically share with us on this platform.

Shanna Peterson was born and raised in Durban and grew up with a love of ballet. Straight after school, she studied Drama, majoring in Dance at Natal Technikon. Years later she fell into a Yoga Alliance Teacher Training with Tracey Rohan-Erwin of Shades of Yoga. Immediately after which she ran Sunshine Yoga Studio on the Lower South Coast of KZN for three years.

She then ran Power Pilates in Westville, DBN for three years. Shanna completed her BASI Mat Course with Natasja Barnard of Tash B Pilates in Ballito. 2017 saw Shanna relocating to JHB where she has been the Yoga & Pilates Instructor at Discovery Health Gym for their staff for the past four years. As well as contracting to Sasol, Sports Science Institute and Zenzele Fitness.

Johannesburg has also afforded Shanna the chance to attend many courses and workshops like Tracy Mallets bbarreless, Bend Balance Wheel, Theraband, and various Barre workshops.
Coming from a dance background Shanna loves instructing clients in various movement modalities as it feels like she is dancing the entire day.

Shanna currently runs online Pilates workshops. I have done my first one and let me tell you, I cant wait to do more! It is quite a workout and Shanna is a fitness expert!
