My friend Dawn and I were invited to attend a lunch prepared by Chef Travis of The Green Lounge Musgrave. A Fine dining Oasis in the heart of the bustling city of Durban.
First impressions
On arrival, we were met with warm smiles as well as the elegance and exquisite colour scheme of green and gold. The restaurant is classy, quiet and serene.
The Menu
Ginger shots, vegetarian soups, falafel or steak. A variety of tastes for a variety of palettes. Not only is the food healthy but also absolutely delicious. I ordered the Chicken Roulade on a bed of avo risotto. The filling was apple and cranberry. Dawn ordered the Salmon Teriyaki. Both, simple, elegant, well-presented dishes with explosions of taste and colour. We also ordered a butternut and beetroot salad to share! We were hungry girls! Green Lounge Musgrave also do the most amazing platters for two.
What else you should know
Book their exclusive dining area for work functions or small events such as birthdays or baby showers. It is gorgeous! Thank you Chef Travis for a wonderful overall experience. All in all, it was a fabulous luncheon enjoyed by two friends. We were rather spoilt for choice. Chef Travis is very passionate about food and it overflows into the meals he prepares! The wait staff are rather hunky too 😉

Dawn and I scored the restaurant under these three categories, Atmosphere, Food, Service and Venue Location. Dawn is the fussiest eater I know, that is why I chose her to accompany me and help me with the review. I knew it would be honest and unbiased.

The only negative is the toilet facilities which are situated in the centre itself and need a bit of TLC to match the experience received at Green Lounge. Centre management at 135 Musgrave, need to up their game now to attend to the needs of the visitors and patrons.
Dawn and I will definitely visit again and can’t wait to try some of those delicious looking soups and many other items we saw on the menu that caught our eye! So hope to run into you there one day soon!
